The IRS announced recently that three key operational systems will be temporarily unavailable over the Labor Day Weekend.

Modernized eFile (MEF) – both production and ATS – will be down from 7:00 p.m. on September 5 to 7:00 a.m. on September 8.

e-Services Transcript Delivery System, TIN Matching, ACA and the e-file Application systems will be unavailable from 9:00 p.m. on September 5 until 6:00 a.m. on September 8.

Filing Information Returns Electronically (FIRE) System – both production and Test – will be unavailable from 4:00 p.m. on September 5 until 8:00 a.m. on September 8.

All times are Eastern Daylight and the IRS is asking tax professionals to refrain from accessing these systems during the times noted.

So, take a break. The IRS Insists!
